We Are Here To Clear Your Confusion: 12th Science

Science courses are highly popular among students passing class tenth and choosing their major stream. The two main reasons for the same are –

  1. It is considered a bright and brilliant choice to pursue science as a career so most of the students even if they do not have the numbers, interest, or caliber to pursue science, go ahead with this stream.
  2. Secondly, if you are brilliant and hard-working, there is no dearth of career and work opportunities after taking up medical or non-medical stream.

These reasons tempt students to go ahead with medical or non-medical stream and so we see lesser students opting for humanities or commerce courses.

But where there are options; there are confusions as well. You would often find science students being confused about what they are going to do after their class 12th. Yes, almost all the Science students want to do engineering after taking non-medical and medical student want to pursue MBBS or BDS course. Now here, arises the problem! There are not enough seats in top engineering colleges or medical institutes of India to accommodate all the medical and non-medical students.

Do you know for every 10,00,00 students appearing for JEE, IIT offers only 10,000 seats!

Now imagine what would 9,90,000 students do who fail to clear this prestigious test? What would happen to their engineering dreams? The simple answer is that there are many top engineering colleges in India other than IITs which offer world-class engineering education to students and also offer lucrative jobs, thanks to the success of their campus placement drives. MM Engineering College is one such leading engineering institute that offers B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Computers, Electronics & Comm., Civil, Biotechnology, etc.

Similarly, more than 90% of students fail to clear prestigious medical exams, and therefore their dream of becoming a doctor remains unfulfilled. Should this discourage them? No, not at all… because there are so many other education streams that they can opt after class 12th in case they do not qualify for engineering or medical exams.

Students can go for professional courses like Bachelor of Computer Applications or even Bachelors of Business Administration. Both these courses are considered as good as a B. Tech degree as far as placements are concerned. BCA is highly popular among the youth because students get good jobs through campus placement drive after doing BCA. They end up working with multinational companies. Students from MMDU have been successful in getting high pay packages after doing BCA or BBA. Medical students can opt to do courses in pharmaceuticals, nursing, physiotherapy or they can also go for an MBA in Hospital Management which is an upcoming field but for that, they must do BBA or any other graduation degree which renders them eligible to qualify for MBA in Hospital Management.

Students can also pursue B.Sc in chemistry, a B.Sc in physics, a B.Sc in biotechnology, etc. which will help them take the path of doing research projects or Ph.D. further in the subjects. It is worth mentioning that doing research projects with top universities of the world or even industry-sponsored research is a highly lucrative career option. It would not only give you name and fame but good financial enrichment as well.

We hope this article has cleared all your confusion as to what should be done after 12th Science.
