MM(DU) Celebrated Founder’s Day on Sept 11 with Great Fervour

“Good leaders have vision and inspire others to help turn their vision into reality”

The above quote fits best to the great visionary of MM(Deemed to be University), Sh. Tarsem Garg Ji, who ignited thousands of young minds to create their own vision.

On the birth anniversary of Hon’ble Chancellor of MM(DU), both students and faculties congratulated him for the monumental achievements as a University Chancellor. Apart from that, a plethora of unique events were organised at the various departments of the university. Let’s walk through scores of events celebrated on the Founder’s Day.

Literary Club-Expressions celebrated the Founder’s Day by organising a workshop on “Learning a Fun” with an objective to inculcate team spirit and leadership qualities among the students.

Environmental Club of MM(Deemed to be University) celebrated the birthday of Hon’ble Chancellor Sir by organising Tree Plantation Event. The aim of the event was to save the endangered environment and to beautify lives of people.

A cultural event was also organised by the third semester students of CSE Branch. During the celebration, students staged poetry and songs. Apart from that, Musical Chair game was played by the students for thirteen rounds. Students also decorated the class whiteboard with the Happy Birthday theme.

Civil Engineering Department of MM(DU) also celebrated the day by organising poster making competition. During the event, students expressed their innovative ideas through paintings and sketches.

The department of ECE also celebrated Founder’s day with a great zeal and enthusiasm to honour Hon’ble Chancellor Sir. On this occasion, the department organized technical (Sudoku) cum fun activities (Dumb Charades) for students of ECE. Out of eight teams in Sudoku, three were declared winners. The teams were judged on the basis of minimum time taken with correct answers. In the fun activity, the students enjoyed playing Dumb Charades. In the end, Head ECE Department motivated the students to adopt the vision and values of our Hon’ble Chancellor Sir in their lives to become a good human being.

A collage making event was organised in the department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology. Undergraduate students and interns participated in the event and came up with an amazing collage on the topic “Evolution of Indian mindset post-independence”.

Resonance Society of Electrical Engineering Department celebrated the day by organising Carom Competition. More than 15 students participated in the event.

Founders Day

CodeX society of CSE Department organised an event in which around hundred students participated in an online game PUBG. The winner of the event was Team “RunAsOne” consisting of final year students and they were awarded with the cash prize by the event coordinators. The event was a prodigious success and the participants cherished each and every moment.

Sports Council of MM(DU) organized various events on the occasion of Hon’ble Chancellor sir birthday which includes Inter College Badminton Tournament 2018 -19 (11 – 14 Sept. 2018) and Friendly Cricket Match of Students of MM(DU). Besides, the members of Sports Council celebrated the birthday with cake cutting.

MM(DU)’s Nursing Department also gave mesmerizing performance on the occasion by making amazing birthday cards.

MM Institute of Management also came up with enthralling dancing and singing performances to show their gratitude and love for Chancellor Sir on his birthday.

Law Department of MM(DU) came up with cultural events on the occasion and celebrated the day by staging poetry recitation, singing, dancing, and presentation.

Above all, a blood donation camp was also organised at the University to contribute towards the society and save lives.

All in all, students and staff of MM(DU) expressed their gratitude towards Hon’ble Chancellor Sir on Founder’s Day for engendering best-in-class University and bestowing with conducive environment for both academics and research.
