Maharishi Markandeshwar Deemed to be University is hosting National Symposium on the topic “Why India and Why Not Bharat” on Sept 15 at the university campus.
His Excellency Prof. Ganeshi Lal Ji, Hon’ble Governor, Odisha will be the chief guest of the event. Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Hon’ble Speaker H.P. Legislative assembly and Prof. K.C. Agnihotri, Vice Chancellor, Central University, H.P. will also join the event as the guests of honour.
The aim of the conference is to initiate the topic that why our country has two names Bharat and India and to bring together scholars and students from various fields in order to have their thoughts on the same.
The symposium will comprise of three sessions in which participants will share their views on the topic ‘Why India? Why Not Bharat!’ Details of the sessions are as follows:
Session 1: Keynote Forum which will be followed by Opening Ceremony
Session 2: Do we really need two names? Established name vs Given name
Session 3: Bharat: Reflection of Harmony, Diversity, Expression, Melody, and Rhythm
To bring awareness on the topic, the University has also organized debate and slogan writing competition in all the departments that includes Law, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Management, MMICTBM (MCA), Dental, Nursing, Engineering, and MBBS. These knowledge enhancing sessions brought many view points from the end of students as well as faculties. Students who won the title of the best debaters and slogan writers will also get certificates after the successful completion of the National Symposium.
