Engineering is one of the most lucrative and respectful career choices for youth, not just in India but all across the world. Such is the respect for this branch of knowledge that even parents expect their brilliant children to take up engineering or non-medical as a career choice. More value and respect for this career; more confusion, options, and doubts in the minds of the youth. Students are confused about which field of engineering should they pursue and also about the best engineering colleges in India. Engineering Admission is no cakewalk; Take a look at this figure – The qualification rate at IIT over the years has gone down drastically. In 2012, nearly 9,369 students qualified for IITs out of 479,651 students who appeared for JEE exam; thus the qualification rate came out to be 1.95% which fell down to 0.92% in 2017 when only 11,000 students were able to qualify for IIT of nearly 12,00,000 students who applied for JEE Main. This means B. Tech admission 2020 is going to be even tougher!

This would definitely be seen as discouraging statistics and bad News but the good News is that India has many top engineering colleges that offer world-class B. Tech degree parallel to the level of IIT.

All IIT B. Tech aspirants are required to first qualify for the JEE main exam. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency. Not all qualifiers for this test will be declared eligible for the next step. A most important point to note is that many leading engineering colleges of India like MM Engineering College, a constituent of MMDU also accept the score of JEE for admission into its coveted B. Tech courses. MMEC offers B. Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. MMEC also offers B.Tech in Computer Science with specialization in Software Development which is one of its kind course in India that helps students gain an understanding of technical and practical aspects of software development and global trends in the ever-changing digital space.

JEE exam is the first step for getting admission into the best engineering colleges in India. Only the top 1.5 to 2 lakh qualifying aspirants are shortlisted for the 2nd stage. Qualifying for the JEE Advanced is the next step. The students who have been shortlisted in this step are required to qualify for this test to get admission to the top engineering institute of their choice.

For those who wish to know about the IIT engineering admission process – The next step is the centralized engineering admission process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The candidates are required to exercise their options depending on their rank. When the candidate is able to secure either the opening or closing rank laid down by the respective IIT, they can get admission. Accept the admission offer by downloading the provisional admission letter from the JoSAA website. The fee is to be paid online regarding the same. Document verification is the concluding stage of your B. Tech admission process where the candidates are required to report to the prescribed reporting center. Later, the engineering aspirant should visit the respective institution on the given date.

Other Methods Of Applying For An Engineering Course In India

You can go through the centralized admission process for the most reputable B. Tech courses as explained above or may choose to do the following as well if you have some other institution in your mind.

Looking for an engineering course in a deemed university is also a very highly preferred route that many students take. You can submit the application form through their official website. The admission process is typically conducted by the university as a separate procedure from the centralized one explained above.

State-level centralized admission processes for engineering / B. Tech courses are also very popular.

Taking admission to an engineering college without appearing on an entrance test is possible. You may submit a B. Tech application form through the official website of the college and pay the application fee as directed.

Going for an engineering course / BTech training in a private college is quite lucrative. These institutions offer very advanced engineering courses.
